One of the scourges of the Internet
is the high volume of unsolicited email (popularly known as ‘spam’).
It can be a tiresome time-waster and can often be the bearer of computer
viruses.
For busy
email addresses (especially emails that are advertised on a web page)
a spam filter is a useful time-saver. It recognises well-known ‘spammers’ and
deletes their messages. It can also be individually configured to bar
messages from spammers you discover from your own experience.
